In the footsteps of Ralph Vaughan Williams
I curated and directed an event for the 2022 Cheltenham Music Festival featuring a walk around the village of Down Ampney and a private recital in the oak-panelled drawing room of Vaughan Williams' birthplace.

The walk began at All Saints' Church, Down Ampney (where Vaughan Williams' father had been vicar) and made a circuit of the village while aspects of the composers' life and music were explained, in particular the connection between music and place.

Ending at what was formerly the Vicarage, students from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire performed Vaughan Williams' Six Studies in English Folksong and Hymn-tune Prelude on Song 13 by Orlando Gibbons.
